Instron Workshop 28th March – John conducted the Challenge Workshop at Instron on his birthday and received a cake for his troubles.
Instron are a new client of The Exhibiting Agency who were first introduced to us at a GAMBICA-hosted Exhibiting Masterclass.
The team threw themselves into the session and these were some of the comments that were made afterwards:
“Complete mind reset: how easy it is / can be” “A true understanding that we do need to change the way we do events” “Changing our company’s mindset on trade shows” “John’s presentation and enthusiasm!” “Not taking sales people to the show and the energy” “The case studies – very inspiring” “The overall engagement with the group and the open discussions” “The presenter and the positive realisation that things can be MUCH better” “Very engaging and thought provoking – you changed my life!!” “Trade shows are marketing tools to produce good quality leads. Don’t try to sell at the show but create the need” “Interactive sessions where you can relate the concept to our business. Great session. I don’t think I have ever seen so many people at Instron so fired up! Well done!”
The whole team embraced the challenge and have since come up with a strategy and clear objectives for their stand at Interplas later in the year. They have also employed The Exhibiting Agency to assist with its implementation, with a further workshop taking place in June to get the process started.
Oh we do like to be beside the seaside…
CME Medical Managing Director, John Carrington, and owner Stephen Thorpe were flying home from a visit to their principal in Israel when they found themselves sitting next to John Blaskey from The Exhibiting Agency. Networking knows no boundaries and by the end of the journey the idea of a Challenge workshop to tackle the lacklustre results from past tradeshows had been sown.
A few weeks later the CME team comprising their Managing Director, Head of Marketing, Product Manager, Head of Sales, along with representatives from marketing and communications, area sales, and clinical came together for a Live Marketing Challenge Workshop, facilitated by The Exhibiting Agency’s John Blaskey and Ashley Boroda.
This one day workshop challenged the team to think again about their Live Marketing / exhibiting activity, using The Exhibiting Agency’s SPEC approach:
• Selecting – the right events
• Planning – meticulously
• Executing – consistently
• Capitalising – on the new business pipeline…
Following the session, the team where asked what the highlights of the session had been. These were some of their replies:
“The exhibition journey” “Make yourself a destination… be different” “Detail of feedback forms to be filled in” “Buy in to the benefits of having a professionally managed stand – and speed of follow up needed” “Highlighting that people make the exhibition experience work” “Seeing the value of the opportunities beyond the show” “Learning the potential of Outcomes and the necessary activity ratio” “Identifying our ‘proposition beyond the product'” “Slides and case studies demonstrating what worked and what didn’t“
John Carrington, Managing Director commented: “It was an extremely useful day, thank you. The thinking time yesterday is a great start position for the team to decide what we do going forward, the resounding message is “we have to change and make the exhibitions much more valuable for the business. Excellent”.
Its not always all work and no play..
The Exhibiting Agency had the privilege of being invited to an Aries party at Merchant Taylors Hall in Threadneedle St, to both celebrate their 25th anniversary, and launch their new website and web version of the Aries Pensions System http://www.ariespensions.co.uk/new/video.htm.
The Exhibiting Agency have been working with Aries for around 8 years, consulting on and supporting their exhibition presence at one or two exhibitions each year.
It was a pleasure to share in their celebrations and we wish them well for the next 25 years.
Another long term client, the QEIICC kicked off their plans for The Meetings Show UK in April, with three months to go before the exhibition. The Exhibiting Agency’s philosophy is that it’s never too soon to start planning.
Objectives and key messages have been set – with a different audience in mind from the one targeted at Confex back in March – and a creative theme was also discussed – again very different to that from Confex.
We will keep you posted with progress and of course report on results following the show.
Just in the nick of time
Also kicking off plans for their next exhibition were Finac Solutions (DNS Associates), but this time with just over one month to prepare for the show. The Exhibiting Agency conducted a Strategy Review and workshop focussing Finac on clear objectives, messaging and a theme to launch their new all in one software – Nomisma.
Look out for May news to see their results.
