Heated Hot Rock (Stone Loungers) were introduced to The Exhibiting Agency via Peter Hills of the Academy for Chief Executives and had never exhibited before.
Launching a new venture, their first exhibition was to be SPATEX2015 at Ricoh Arena 1st to 3rd February 2015. During a combined Strategy Review and Exhibitor Workshop, Heated Hot Rock stated that they wanted to find profitable new customers (potential trade accounts), raise their profile, differentiate themselves from competitors, conduct face to face market research and recruit further sales outlets and asked The Exhibiting Agency to help them develop an exhibiting strategy, enhance the impact of their messages and importantly (for a new company) the measurement of their return on investment.
And they did just that – with around 1,000 show visitors Hot Rock engaged with around 5% of them, fully qualified before being brought into the stand – by an Exhibiting Agency professional spotter – all completing Outcomes feedback forms – leading to a new business Pipeline estimated at £250,000 and more than 40:1 potential ROI.
“We are pleased to give this recommendation to the outstanding quality of the services of The Exhibition Agency. John Blaskey was exemplary regarding the planning of our exhibition campaign from start to finish. His architectural vision led to us achieving extraordinary leads for the success of “Heated Hot Rock Ltd”. His long term schematical plan of action increased revenue for our business.
John Blaskey’s expertise was necessary to reach every goal put in front of us and his energetic personality with deep business knowledge has increased growth within our organisation.”

The FCS hosted an Exhibiting Mini Masterclass for their members as part of their “ Business Radio 15” Preview Day at the Chateau Impney Hotel & Exhibition Centre – a very impressive venue.
John Blaskey presented to a small but enthusiastic audience the importance of Selecting, Planning, Executing and Capitalising on any Live Marketing event, particularly exhibiting.
A challenging session offered systems and techniques to help delegates exhibit more powerfully at the forthcoming show.
European Springs were introduced to The Exhibiting Agency at a masterclass hosted by IST (Institute of Spring Technology) back in September 2014, subsequently investing in their own in-house Exhibiting Workshop earlier this year in preparation for their attendance at Southern Manufacturing Show 10th – 12th February.
At their previous exhibition ROI was unknown. So The Exhibiting Agency provided the tools and processes at the workshop to enable European Springs to capitalise on their investment in the show and measure the outcome.
At the post show debrief the team highlighted some of the things they did well this time; “we approached customers with open questions, listened actively, held daily debriefs, gathered new market info, measured our performance, involved more internal staff”.
And the result? A new business pipeline of £30,000 (Target £20,000) with a potential ROI of 10:1. Steve Bate, Business Development Manager, commented “we were shocked – what we thought had worked in the past – give-aways, sweets, pens had not; and what we didn’t think would work i.e. not giving away freebies and brochures – did work”.
The Manufacturing Advisory Service is now part of the Business Growth Service, a government-backed service offering support to businesses with the potential to improve and grow. They help businesses achieve their potential by identifying barriers to growth and providing tailored support that fits their needs, including coaching, consultancy, mentoring, training, access to finance and export advice – click here for more information.
Another Live Marketing MASterclass – this time for the organisations actively involved with the Manufacturing Advisory Service – some of whom are also clients of The Exhibiting Agency.
John and Ashley presented to around 30 delegates – but an all too familiar picture emerged from those who do exhibit or use Live Marketing as a medium to grow their business – don’t know or don’t measure their results. In this case over 50%.
Some of the feedback from delegate following the session when asked what the highlight had been for them:
Listening & questioning
A set of good ideas and a new approach
Absolutely fantastic, many, many thanks, John and Ashley, utterly refreshing, lots of clarity
All of it great stuff
Live marketing
Refreshing
Telling a good story
MAS now intend to run the Masterclass across the Northwest region.
