A busy month for The Exhibiting Agency and our clients near and far.
The first week of November saw Camlab exhibiting at WWEM, Telford International Centre 5th and 6th November 2014 – a specialist event for the Water, Wastewater and Environmental Monitoring community.
Camlab hired The Exhibiting Agency to conduct a Strategy, Planning and Implementation Workshop following an Exhibiting Mini Masterclass hosted by GAMBICA back in January this year.
And after a second segment of the Workshop, Camlab asked The Exhibiting Agency to manage their forthcoming WWEM show atTelfordin November.
Camlab took a leap of faith by closing off the stand, not featuring products on the stand – but rather telling the story of how different they were in the field of supplying laboratory equipment, services and expertise – and in particular automation.
An AV presentation was scripted and delivered by one of The Exhibiting Agency’s professional presenters, Dan Blaskey and the attracting and filtering of visitors was effected by one of our Spotters Kate Dobson.
The stand featured virtual reality headsets to taking visitors on a roller coaster ride to a “smoother lab”.
Instron’s second outing in a matter of months, they took the stand, The Exhibiting Agency staff, tools, processes and the learning from Interplas and applied it all to Advanced Engineering 11th and 12th November at the NEC, Birmingham.
Oman’s leading exhibition & conference organising company hosted a Live Marketing Masterclass presented by John Blaskey of The The Exhibiting Agency. Key government stakeholders including investment and export development authorities, chamber of commerce, media and convention centre management were in attendance.
The full day session was very well received by all parties and will be the start of a series of educational seminars for the groupExhibiting Agency. Key government stakeholders including investment and export development authorities, chamber of commerce, media and convention centre management were in attendance.
Just some of the responses from delegates when asked what the highlight of the session was for them:
Amazing
Ask questions to engage the visitor. Don’t make statements
Create an experience
Everything
Excellent
Great Presentation
How could you get a better benefit as an exhibitor
Identifying your audience. Rejecting time wasters.
Interaction with other participants
John’s wit and humour
Never keep brochures on your stand. People buy from people
One of the best / Educative
Realistic / hands on advise and knowledge – very useful – thank you
Right people on the stand
How to grow as professional marketer
I was really surprised with the idea of not to have any materials (printed items)
The way you explain it was easy and entertaining
John also presented to a slightly different audience at The Big 5 Construction Show inDubai- a mix of exhibitors, prospective exhibitors and exhibition visitors.
A mix of results – but a familiar story:
- 22% never exhibited before
- 56% attend 3-7 shows per year
- 22% attend more that 7 shows a year
A staggering 44% did not know how much they had spent last time they exhibited and 22% had spent more than $50,000!
More worrying is of those who knew how much they had spent 88.9% did not measure or did not know what return on investment they had achieved! 11.1% estimated they had a 2:1 – 5:1 return on investment.
As well as the at show Masterclass The Exhibiting Agency also provided guidance on stand layout and journey for DMGs own stand at The Big 5 Construction Show in Dubai promoting their other Middle East exhibitions (Indonesia and Egypt)
DMG closed off their stand, qualified visitors before inviting them onto the stand and used The Exhibiting Agency’s Outcomes feedback and results measurement tool. There were 561 leads processed over the four days of the show. 473 of which expressed an interest in exhibiting at one of DMGs forthcoming shows!
The Exhibiting Agency worked with TFS through 2014 to create an ongoing programme of Masterclasses on the subject of excavating foundations in a safer, more cost effective way. And then came the planning for The Big 5 Construction Show 2014.
It was recommended that TFS take an indoor stand at the PMV show – which runs alongside The Big 5 Construction show – and they were bold enough to take a 30m2 site right next to their main competitor.
A theme was originated: “Looking at foundations from a different perspective”. The creative treatment suggested by The Exhibiting Agency incorporated and excavated “hole” at the front of the stand and inside. Visitors were invited to enter over a rickety bridge emphasising the point that TFS would not allow unsafe practices to occur.
Once inside visitors were taken around a series of presentations on how TFS approached foundations in a way that saved contractors time and money – without sacrificing safety.
The results were, in the words of Peter Titus “30% – 40% better than the previous year – with a high number of enquiries from quality prospects”.
By chance DMG President – sponsors of the shows – passed by and took the stand “journey”. See picture.
IPSE at The Business Show 27th and 28th November – Olympia 2014
Michelle Storm-Lane of PCG (Professional Contractors Group) attended a Masterclass sponsored by the Trade Association Forum in March 2014. The Masterclass on “Transforming your Tradeshows” was delivered by The Exhibiting Agency’s John Blaskey.
And Michelle – whose organisation was about to rebrand – decided that there was much that could be applied to her forthcoming presence at The Business Show in November 2014.
PCG are rebranding as IPSE.
They represent 24,000 or more independent contractors across many sectors and protect them from loss of earnings due to jury duty, injury, tax inspections and other unexpected business threats.
IPSE enlisted the support of The Exhibiting Agency for Total Show Consultancy. They adopted the 20 stage process, whereby at the outset clear objectives – with metrics – were identified and at the end every aspect of these objectives was measured, evaluated and turned into a return on investment outcome.
A theme – the IPSE Gallery – featured five animated versions of well known masterpieces, each with a message relating to the suite of products delivered by IPSE membership.
The stand stole the show and was arguably the most professionally run. This assessment by many of the hundreds of visitors who came through the IPSE gallery and every visitor enjoyed the same experience thanks to a light hearted pre-scripted audio narrative crated by The Exhibiting Agency’s Dan Blaskey. Dan also managed the stand, assisted by “Spotter” Kate Dobson.
At the post show debrief Michelle said “we hired The Exhibiting Agency to help us maximise the impact of our rebranding at this very important show for us”.
IPSE also sponsored the Business Connection area near the IPSE Gallery and between the two sites have added over one thousand names to their database, signed up a number of members on the stand, and have generated a large number of leads where visitors have asked for details about joining.
IPSE now have a future model and process for their tradeshows going forward.
